Literary Blog Hop - A Collage of Literary Love

Literary Blog Hop

The topic this week at The Blue Bookcase's Literary Blog Hop is: How did you find your way to reading literary fiction or non-fiction?

It's in my blood.  I've loved to read as long as I can remember, I played with books as a baby like they were toys, and I started writing my first novel in a flowery journal in the first or second grade.  It was about a road trip.  I'm also the product of parents who read to me and read themselves, and also sustained silent reason starting in kindergarten.  It seemed natural to major in English, because I was taking mostly English classes in college, and it was natural to go to graduate school to study literature so I could share my love of books with other people.  However, mostly, I just love it.  Reading is right to me and I'd rather do it than most other things.  Since I'm a little lazy today, here is a pictorial tour of the books that really changed me as a reader, in chronological order.

  1. I love your picture tour of the books that changed you in life. I read and was changed by many of the same books like Where the Wild Things Are, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, 1984, and the Scarlet Letter.

  3. Wonderful selection of books. "Are You There God, It's Me Margaret" had an impact on me as a teenager too. And "1984" is just wonderful.

  4. Wrinkle in Time was a watershed book for me, too. I was Meg. I never really liked any of the subsequent books, but I loved Wrinkle.

    I'm a new follower!

Here is my post for the Blog Hop.
