Book Blogger Hop: What's in a Name?

Book Blogger Hop

This week's book blogger hop question is:

"Do you ever wish you would have named your blog something different?"

The answer is pretty simple...not really.  I chose to name my blog after one of my favorite novels, associating it with one of the strongest female characters in all of literature (in my humble opinion, of course). Also, in Hawthorne's book, the Scarlet A itself takes on tons of different symbolic meanings -- it is a shifting signifier.  I love that.  I named my blog after the A because it represented language itself to me.  So, that's the story.  I know the question didn't really ask for the reasoning.

I like the name, but I could use a cool new banner.

  1. What’s in a name? Everything! A name is a label, a description and a promise. I’m very happy with mine – “Howard Sherman, Implementor” but it was quite a journey to get there.

Hop on over to my blog and find out why – http://www.howardsherman.net

  5. Yes, your blog name is perfect. The first time I saw your blog on someone's blogroll, I thought, "How come I didn't think of naming my blog after my favorite novel?" Perfect choice!
