Book Blogger Hop
Thanks Crazy-For-Books, for this week's question:
"What are you reading now and why are you reading it?"
I usually read three books at a time from three different categories: Literary Fiction, Nonfiction and YA.
Right now I am reading:
I am reading Karen Russell's Swamplandia, because it sounded exactly like the sort of thing I would like: quirky, unique plot, Gothic elements. And then the publisher was kind enough to provide a lovely finished copy (the book just came out this week). So far, I am not disappointed at all; I am loving the book.
I am reading Jennifer Donnolly's Revolution because I have heard good things about it from other bloggers and because I was intrigued by the book's trailer. So far, I have enjoyed reading about the narrator's life as a teenager in New York, and I am excited to read more about her experience in Paris.
I am reading Mira Bartok's, The Memory Palace, because, again, I received it from the publisher. I read a review of this one in the New York Times and it peaked my interest because of the subject matter: narrator with a schizophrenic mother experiences her own brain trauma and explores the significance of memory. It has also been quite a while since I read a memoir, so I was due.
I enjoyed Revolution quite a bit, and Donelly's earlier book, A Northern Light, even more. I've just started to hear about Swamplandia. I'll be curious to know what you think about it when you're finished.

Wow - I don't know how you keep up with three at a time, and from three different genres. Your books look really interesting, though.

Hopping through. I'm reading Revolution now too. I'm early in, but I really like the voice.
