Book Blogger Hop: Escaping Into A Book

This week's question:
"If you could physically put yourself into a book or series…which one would it be and why?"

I like the Lost Generation novels.  I think I would like to be plopped somewhere in the 1920's with Gatsby or Jake Barnes.  However, I wouldn't want to stay for long, because I have no real desire to have lived through WWII.  Obviously there are negatives to being a young woman in that time period, but it's pretty hard for me to think of any situation that would be truly ideal, since it is the nature of most books (even fantastical ones) to contain conflict and negative forces of some sort.

  1. Thanks for dropping by my blog. You make a valid point about conflict in books. I think for this week's question one just needs to look at the good and discount the bad, no matter the book. I hope you have a great weekend. Happy reading!

  2. I didn't even think about the conflict. I picked Agatha Christie, someone gets murdered in everyone!

  3. I'd love the 1920's. That would be fun.

I chose James Patterson's Women's Murder Club and Sookie Stackhouse. I couldn't just pick one.

  4. Hey, thanks for stopping by! I like your answer, it's always hard to choose as every book seems to have some conflict. Happy Reading!

  5. Because most books center on a conflict, I would not want to stay around for long. I suppose I'm actually happiest simply reading books and then returning to my happy real life.

  6. I rather agree that attending one of Gatsby's parties would be great fun, but many other aspects of the time period seem less than ideal. I suppose that no world - fictional or otherwise - is conflict free or truly idyllic, so all most of our choices for this hop come with caveats...

  7. Maybe picking scenes from our favorite novels would be safer!!!
