Top Ten Tuesday: Unfinished Business

This week at The Broke and The Bookish, the TTT topic is one that I'm not sure I have 10 answers for, but I'll give it a shot:  Top Ten Series I Haven't Finished

Series that I started, but have not finished:

10. The Jessica Darling Series by Megan McCafferty:  I've been saving the last one because I really like them.
9. The Matched Trilogy by Allie Condie:  I liked Matched just fine, but haven't picked up the next book yet.
8. The Millenium Trilogy by Steig Larsson:  I read Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and just didn't feel compelled to continue.  I'm interested in the second book, but not the third at all.
7. The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S.Lewis:  My mom read these to me when I was a kid, but I think I started to get a little tired of them after The Silver Chair.
6. Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling:  I've only read the first book, and a wee bit of the second.
5. The Dublin Murder Squad books by Tana French:  I just recently read the fourth book Broken Harbor, but I haven't read the first three.  I don't really think this is a problem, as the books really stand on their own.
4. The Border Trilogy by Cormac McCarthy:  I just read and reviewed All the Pretty Horses, but there are two more books in this sort-of-series that I have yet to read.

Series that I haven't started, but would like to read:

3. The Rabbit Trilogy by John Updike
2. A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin
1.  The Dark Tower Series by Stephen King

How about you? Do you read series? Do you finish them?

Comments

  1. The Dublin Murder Squad books are so good. The fourth one was definitely my favorite but they are all a little emotionally draining.

The Dark Tower and Song of Ice and Fire books are on my list too. I haven't got very far into either series but I really want to!

  2. I was initially compelled not to continue Larsson's trilogy, I'm not sure how I caved and ended up checking out the other books lol

Here's my TTT for this week =)

  3. I would definitely recommend 1 & 2, I think they are both wonderful. Although I did also enjoy the Millennium Trilogy, they are not the best but as a whole I would recommend them.

  4. I am working on the Song of Fire and Ice series now. If you are like me, it will suck you in and you will abandon all other books until you have read them all. I agree with you about Matched. It was fine, I enjoyed it, but never felt compelled to go back. Dublin Murder Squad is so wonderful and you are right, it does not matter what order you read them. I recommend picking up the rest when you have time. I hope to get to Jessica Darling some day soon. Here is my list http://wp.me/pzUn5-1dc

  5. Mm, I've never read Updike, and should. Also, Jessica Darling.

"The Horse and His Boy" is my favorite Narnia book. I love "The Silver Chair", but it can lose a reader more easily than some of the others.

  6. I have the first Jessica Darling book on my shelves to get to eventually, along with the first two books of The Millennium Trilogy and all three Dublin Murder Squad books. Sigh. So much to read.

  7. The Harry Potter series gets better as it goes along!

I should have put The Dark Tower Series on my list! I've only read the first few books. They're really good!

The Matched trilogy is also on my list! :)

    New follower btw! :)

  8. I agree - I don't think the Dublin Murder Squad needs to be read in order.

And I really should have put the Dark Tower on my list! I really love the series but I haven't read them all yet.

    Have a great week!
