The Classics Club: September Meme

...and also my 300th post, which is notable.  I think maybe I'll do a giveaway when my number of posts matches my number of followers.

Anyway, this post is for The Classics Club September Meme.  I'm not exactly rocking the classics club at the moment, but I am currently reading a book on my list, and I have some plans for next year that will likely boost my numbers.

This month's meme asks clubbers to pick a review from another member to feature on their blog.  I have a couple of Brontës on my list (a reread of Jane Eyre and a first read of Wuthering Heights), but I knew that I wanted to feature Bex's review of The Tenant of Wildfell Hall for this post.

Bex says, "I won’t say it until I’ve read Agnes Grey, but after finishing The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, Anne is definitely in the lead as my favourite Bronte."  She also calls it scandalous (for its time anyway), compares it to Little Women and basically just tells us to go read it.  I have it on the shelf, although I never felt particularly compelled to pick it up until I read the reviews from Classics Club members.  A the list grows on...

  1. Well done on your 300th post :) Also, The Tenant of Wildfell Hall is brilliant, one of my favourites I think :)

  2. I've heard such good things about this one. I read Agnes Grey earlier this year from Allie's (A Literary Odyssey) A Victorian Celebration, and it was good - I hear Tenant is even better, so that's a good sign. Those Bronte sisters are ridiculous!
